Quasiparticle recombination in high-Tc superconductors

Description
Consideration is given to quasiparticle recombination in high-Tc superconductors of YBa2Cu3O7 type, which occur under their irradiation by photons with quantum energy, exceeding Cooper pair binding energy. The presented calculation shows that in high-Tc superconductors the concentration of quasiparticles, generated by room background, exceeds the equilibrium concentration at T < 20-30 K. Therefore, saturation of τ(T) temperature dependence takes place in this temperature range, and τ value is limited by background flux intensity
