Ce3Pd20Ge(Si)6 - a new Kondo system?

Description
Ce3Pd20Ge6, Ce3Pd20Si6 new compounds that were recently synthesized and with unknown earlier type of crystalline superstructure are studied. Temperature dependences of specific electric resistance, as well as, temperature and field dependences of magnetic moment within 4-300 K temperature range and within up to 5 kE magnetic fields were measured. Logarithmic growth of electric resistance at low temperatures was detected, and it shows the realization possibility of Kondo-effect within the given system. 5 refs.; 4 figs
