• SMRs are a vital option on the way to decarbonization; • To accelerate the global SMRs deployment, there is a need for harmonization of licensing processes; • Not only a balance between the peaceful use of nuclear energy and nuclear non-proliferation, but also a synergy of safety, security, and safeguards are required; • 3S concept at the stage of designing, might be an effective solution.
