Use of quadrupole relaxation of deuterium nuclei to study electrically neutral metallocomplexes
- 1. Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Novosibirsk
Description
The relaxation of nuclei possessing a large quadrupole splitting constant (halogens, aluminum, mercury, etc.) has been used repeatedly to study the complex formation in solutions and the interaction of organic molecules with macromolecules. The relaxation of deuterium nuclei 2H was used far more rarely, chiefly to study processes of reorientation of the molecules in the liquid and their association as a result of intermolecular interactions. In this work we analyzed the possibilities of the 2H-NMR relaxation method in the study of the complex formation of organic molecules with electrically neutral compounds of the transition metals in solution
