Spectrophotometric study of 3-acetyl-4-oxy-6-methyl-2-pyrone interaction with neodimium(3) ions and its ethylenediaminetetraacetate

Description
3 acetyl-4-oxy-6-methyl-2-pyrone complexing with neodymium (3) ions in the absence and presence of ethylenediaminetetracetic acid (EDTA) has been investigated. It is found that Nd:L ratio in binary complexes is 1:3, and in different ligand ones - 1:1:1. On the base of comparison of increment values in oscillator strengths the conclusion about different participation of donor groups L during coordination to free and bound with EDTA neodymium (3) ion is made. For neodymium concentration higher than 1x10-2 mol/l the binary complexes are shown to exist mainly as polymers formed due to intermolecular bindings
