Description

Full text: New results have been obtained for energy dependence of the total reaction cross section of 6He on 28Si in energy range 8-25 MeV/A. The cross sections of formation of α-particles in the interaction of 6He with 28Si were also measured. The experiments were carried out in the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, JINR, using the MULTI set-up at the Q4D-channel of the U-400M cyclotron. The secondary 6He beams were produced by bombarding a thick beryllium target with a primary 7Li-beam of ∼32 MeV/A. The intensity of the 6He beams reached 5·104 pps, while the energy resolution was not worse than 3 %. The total reaction cross section were determined using a multi-layer semiconductor telescope, the detectors in which were used as active targets and energy degraders, as well as for registration of the reaction products.The experimental results on obtained in present experiment are illustrated. The variation of parameters of this analysis has not led to a description of all the available data. Since the total reaction cross section is very sensitive to the 'tails' of the matter density of the interesting nuclei, it is desirable to measure σr using a technique different from the semiconductor telescope
