Description

In 1983 the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code revised the flaw evaluation procedure for intergranular stress corrosion cracking in stainless steel piping. The Electric Power Research Institute undertook to determine the adequacy of the ultrasonic sizing methods used for IGSCC and set up a round robin exercise. The results and conclusions of the round robin tests are presented. (U.K.)
