Calculation of pion electromagnetic mass difference in the quantum chromodynamics
Description
The electromagnetic pion mass difference is calculated within the QCD sum rules technique in the chiral limit. The obtained theoretical result Δmπ=(mπ+-mπ0)em=4.4±1.1 MeV is in a good agreement with the experimental value (Δmπ)exp=4.43±0.03 MeV. The technique developed in the paper can be used for the calculation of the electromagnetic mass difference of other members of the pseudoscalar octet and allows to take explicity into account the corrections due to non-zero quark masses
