Beginning of the experiments at the VEPP-2N electron-positron storage ring

Description

First experiments at the VEPP-2M electron-positron storage ring in 1975 are described. An experiment on search for narrow resonances in the 760 to 1340 MeV energy range was conducted. Study on beam radiation polarization in the storage ring was carried out. The effect of resonance depolarization was used for absolute calibration of the particle energy in the storage ring. A rectified value of phi-meson mass was obtained to be equal to 1019+-0.3 MeV. Elastic and inelastic form factors of nuclei in electron scattering on the booster internal gas target were investigated. An experiment on X-ray spectroscopy of molecules using beam synchrotron radiation in the storage ring was performed
