  • 1. Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, Kota (India)

Description

Due to the escalation in price of heavy water and its non-availability in the international market, the management of heavy water in PHWR type reactors must necessarily achieve a drastic reduction in heavy water losses for economic operation of such nuclear power plants. Various causes which led to the acute escapes of heavy water in Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS) are listed. Performance of the upgrader for upgrading of the recovered downgraded water is given.
