Description
The switching current and voltage of VO2 single crystals are measured between 160 and 341 K. Experimental results are explained by the switching model of transition at a critical temperature which takes into account the temperature dependence of the electric conductivity of VO2 in its semiconducting phase. In accordance with this model the switching phenomenon in vanadium dioxide occurs due to semiconductor-metal phase transition
