Extraction of uranium (6) hexametaphosphate complexes

  • 1. Donetskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

Uranium (6) extraction from hexamethaphosphate solutions by alkylamines in hexane and kerosene with the aliphatic alcohole addition is studied. Uranium is extracted as an associate with the (C17H35NH3)+ : UO22+ : P6O186- =10 : 1 : 2 ratio. Techniques of uranium concentration and extraction-photometric determination in seawater and brines are proposed. In the absence of additions uranium is determined with arsenazo 3 at pH 1.5 - 2.5, while in the presence of interfering components, with arsenazo 3 in 4n HCl. The relative error of determination does not exceed 11 %
