  • 1. Metallurgy and Materials Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)

Description

Neutron radiographic testing is being extensively used as a non-destructive inspection method to test critical components used in the nuclear and aerospace industries. The KAMINI reactor established at IGCAR, Kalpakkam has state-of-the art facilities for neutron radiography of non-radioactive as well as radioactive object. In this paper, an overview of the salient features of the KAMINI reactor facility used for neutron radiography testing and the experience gained in the PIE and in the inspection of a variety of critical components are discussed.
