Description
Using the extremity dosemeter developed at the Juelich Nuclear Research Centre (KFA), it was possible to satisfactorily determine the directional dose equivalent. Irrespective of the type of radiation, the radiation energy or direction of incidence, the results agreed with the reference value within ±23% for all 36 irradiated dosemeters. Moreover, in many cases it was possible to specify the radiation quality. These results were obtained with a dosemeter whose thinnest detector had the relatively large mass per area of 30 mg/cm2
