Description

In this presentation we focused on the characterization of corrosion-resistant steel LC200N by Moessbauer spectroscopy using isotope 57Fe. This method is suitable for the determination of the iron compounds and their steel material properties. Samples of investigated material were in the form of steel discs having a thickness of 0.5 mm and a radius of 25 mm. The impact of the thermal history and a surface composition on material properties was studied. Three types of the samples were supplied: unhardened steel, hardened steel as well as hardened with following insertion into liquid nitrogen. Disc samples were obtained by cutting from the original steel bars and one side of the disc was polished by diamond paste. The parameters of each page of each sample were obtained by Moessbauer spectroscopy. Obtained spectra were evaluated with program Confit. The most significant impact on the nature of the material had a thermal history. (authors)
