X-ray study of microtwinning of tetragonal crystals. Theory and experiment

Description
Diffraction effects from thin twins over (110) and (111) planes of fcc tetragonal crystals are calculated. Difference in anisotropy of broadening and shift of diffraction maxima conditioned by twins of these systems is shown. The results of experiments on In-Tl and Ni-Al alloys agree with the theory. The results of the work may be used for studying thickness of microtwins and for determination of the twinning system
