Basic rules for the use of quantum mechanics, techniques applicable to the solutions of some problems together with some appropriate approximation methods, and a brief sketch of some difficulties and problems encountered in quantum mechanics, are discussed in chapters headed: (1) Basics. (6) The Stern-Gerlach effect and the spin of the electron. (7) A quantum particle in a spherically symmetric potential. (8) The bound states of the hydrogen atom. (9) The Dirac notation. (10) Harmonic motion. (11) Eigenvalue perturbation theory (including the degenerate case). (12) Time-dependent perturbation theory. (13) Electric dipole radiation.
