Problem of sediment subduction and 10Be isotope in lavas of Kuril Islands and Kamchatka Peninsula

Mass spectrometry has been applied to determine the content of cosmogenic isotope 10Be in the samples of modern lavas of Kuril Islands and Kamchatka Peninsula. The data obtained on the values of 10Be concentration (2.2-7.9x106 at/g) and the calculations of the amount of sediments taking part in the formation of magmatic melts in the above region prove that the maximum share of sedimental constituent in the source of modern lavas of Kuril Islands can be estimated as less than 4 % Kamchatka-less than 2 %. These results prove the earlier made concluson on comparatively insigniticant but really occuring inclusion of sedimentary material in the process of magmogenesis in the region of Kuril Islands
