Description

Radiation-induced swelling of stainless steels of Fe-12 Cr-30 Ni-3 Mo type, containing 0.55 to 1.2 wt.% of Ti, were investigated after irradiation with fast neutron to a fluence of 1.4 · 1027 m2 (E>0.1 MeV) at temperatures 480 to 500 degree C in a B N-600 high-flux commercial reactor. TEM and neutron diffraction studies show that intermetallic aging during irradiation results in the precipitation of ordered γ'-phase dispersed throughout the matrix. The relation between swelling suppression and intermetallic aging is discussed
