Uranium milling at COMUF
Description
The Mounana area of Gabon contains several uranium deposits. A plant at Mounana processes the ore, producing a yellowcake containing 75 percent uranium using a solvent extraction process. Plant capacity is 324000 tonnes per year, using ore grades varying between 3.1 and 3.5 percent. Extraction efficiencies exceed 99.7 percent. Plant reliability is high; the principal costs are for reagents due to transportation costs
