Cosmological fluctuations produced near a singularity
Description
The perturbations of a uniform Friedmannian universe, leading to galaxy formation, are explained by the strings, formed during the symmetry loss of vacuum of a complex Higgs field with mass characteristic of grand unification. Difficulties are pointed out inherent to phase transition, particle decay and black hole evaporation as sources of growing perturbations. (author)
