Environmental radiological surveillance in the south-Center of Cuban region

Description

The characterization and surveillance of the air roads are essential tasks in the detection of the radioactive contamination. The continuous radioactivity of variables as: the rate of dose gamma natural, the activity total beta and the activity of the radionuclides of long half life in the air and in samples of global radioactive depositions, it allows to identify the radioactive contamination and to take opportune measures for the population's protection. In this work those are exposed results reached by our group in this matter during the period 1994-1998. Se they used techniques recommended by the IAEA for the gathering and pretreatment of samples; for the analyses of the mentioned variables it was used an ionization camera respectively, a scum system with anticoincidence technique and a spectrometric system with detecting HPGe; it was carried out the statistical analysis of the results and the comparison with those value historical, with values reported by other monitoring points in our country and internationally. You concludes that during the period it didn't happen the radioactive contamination of our atmosphere by air
