Safety management at NRG-Petten

For more than 45 years, the Nuclear Research and advisory Group (NRG) has accumulated experience in the nuclear field, particularly as a licensee of a broad range of nuclear facilities, including a 45 MW high-flux reactor for testing materials, producing isotopes (for medical purposes) and therapy, using neutron capture by boron. For NRG, safety is very much at the forefront: priority is therefore given to safety requirements over and above production demands. Combining a safety management system with the corporate safety culture has led to an overall safety management system. In 2003, NRG also set about enhancing its organisation to focus on training and human factors. (author)
