Quark-parton cascade in a nucleus and secondary hadron spectra in hadron-nucleus collisions

Description

In the framework of the quark-parton model and with a two-phase mechanism of processes of the multiple production of hadrons, the secondary hadron spectra in the longitudinal and transversal momenta are obtained for interactions of high-energy (of the order of several dozens GeV and higher) hadrons with atomic nuclei. The predicted rapidity distributions of the secondary hadrons is in reasonable agreement with the experimental data. It follows from the data that the parameter μ2, characterizing the time of formation of a parton fluctuation in the hadron, is μ2 approximately equal to 0.5 GeV2. An increase of the average transversal momentum of the secondary hadrons, produced on the nuclei, as compared with the case of interaction on free nucleons, is predicted
