Description
This EDF press communique give information related to the decommissioning of Super Phenix reactor at Creys-Malville Nuclear Power Plant, foreseen to be completed in 2015. The studies of the general principles of decommissioning and dismantling are integrated in the initial studies concerning the NPP design. Technical know-how concerning the reactor core discharge, the sodium voidance and storage, the sodium neutralization and the confinement of the decommissioned nuclear installations is available to the NPP engineers and employer. Other related studies are planned and developed. Issues relating to the regulation framework, the new and irradiated fuel, evolution of the internal and external employees and the costs implied by the Super Phenix decommissioning are addressed also in this report
