Description

The measurement of environment radioactivity and exposure from the natural radiation in the region of the radius 3 km from PLTU Suralaya and PLTU Paiton have been done. The objectives of this environment radioactivity at PLTU Suralaya and PLTU Paiton. The result showed that the concentration of natural radioactivity varies depending the location. Thorium is dominant in both PLTU, Which average concentration is 11.648 + 0.564 ppm at Suralaya, and 10.711 + 0.964 ppm at PLTU Paiton. The uranium concentration is 1.176 + 0,016 ppm at PLTU Suralaya, and PLTU Paiton is 0.546 + 0.046 ppm. The average concentration of potassium is (0.86 + 0.38). 103 ppm at PLTU Suralaya and PLTU Paiton is (0.147 + 0.038) .104 ppm. The average dose at the community around PLTU Suralaya is 2,74 mSv/year; and around PLTU Paiton is 2,68 mSv/year. Compared to natural exposure in the PUSPIPTEK region, the difference in concentration is not significant
