Crystallization of Fe40Ni38Mo4B18 alloy from amorphous and liquid phases

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Fizicheskij Inst.

Description

Using the methods of X-ray diffraction analysis and electron diffraction microscopy comparison of crystallization processes from liquid and amorphous phases has been made for the Fe40Ni38Mo4B13 alloy. It is shown that in both cases the same metastable phases: γ(M), M3B and M23B6, where M=Fe, Na, Mo, are formed, their contents differing significantly in each phase. During crystallization from melt the M3B phase is present in the highest amount, and the γ(M), in the least one, whereas after annealings of amorphous strip the γ-phase is present in the highest amount and M3B-in the least one
