Description

Using the methods of thermodynamic analyses, interactions of yttrium oxide with tungsten, molybdenum and tantalum at high temperatures and oxygen low partial pressures are investigated. Complex oxide phases coexisting at high temperatures with yttrium oxide and corresponding refractory metal are shown to be the most probable solid products of proceeding reactions. It is established that Ta is the most reactive metal as regards Y2O3, W and Mo being less active
