Effect of thermal cycle on the characteristics of cyclic crack resistance of titanium alloys and their joints obrained by diffusion welding

Description
The results of investigation into peculiarities of the effect of titanium alloy structure on crack resistance characteristic of basic material and welded joints oltained ly diffusion welding are presented. High cyclic strength of welded oint of the VT6Ch alloy as compared with the basic material at voltage amplitudes below yield strength is shown to be conditioned by strengthening effect of martensitic α'-phase formed as a result of β→α'-transformation in the zone of plastic deformation in front of the propagating crack under cyclic loading
