Description
The effect of the electric dipole polarizability of 7Li on the elastic cross sections, analyzing powers and inelastic cross sections is studied for the reaction 7Li+208Pb at 27 MeV. This effect is described using dynamic polarization potentials containing the scalar and tensor components of the dipole polarizability. The results are contrasted with continuum discretized coupled channel calculations which include explicitly the coupling to break-up states. (orig.)
