Synthesis and investigation of some properties of yttrium-chromium-polonium composition
Description
The possibility is considered of obtaining a three-component composition yttrium-chromium-polonium through the interaction of vaporous polonium-210 with chromium-yttrium alloys. It has been found that polonium does not interact with chromium at 400 deg to 1000 deg C but interacts with yttrium in chromium-yttrium alloys. Results of the metallographic study of vaporous polonium interaction with these alloys are given. A microstructure of these alloys with polonium is presented. Corrosion tests of the three-component composition yttrium-chromium-polonium in distilled water with pH = 6.5 have been conducted. Stability of the composition and its bahaviour in the oxygen atmosphere up to 1000 deg C have been studied
