Description
The shell model with a continuous spectrum is applied to study the threshold effects in nuclear reactions using as an example the elastic and inelastic scattering of neutrons by a 15N nucleus. Resonant states with a complex shell structure of the 16N nucleus are considered. Threshold states and the shifts of resonant states to the thresholds are observed. However, the absolute value of the effects turns out to be inessential, compared to the nuclear structure effects
