On the dynamic stability of the liquid first wall of pulsed thermonuclear reactors

Description
Considered is a variant of a pulsed thermonuclear reactor in which molten salts on the base of metal fluorides are used as the first wall. Behaviour of liquid layer containing cavitation nuclei in the form of gas bubbles after its pulsed heating by a flux of thermonuclear neutrons is investigated by means of calculation. The analysis of the results obtained reveals that molten salt turns to be small in the presence of sufficient number of gas bubbles in the liquid. Radii of oscillating bubbles slightly change in this case so that the bubbles do not stick together and thus they do not create split-off area. It is concluded that molten salt wall can be used in the pulsed thermonuclear reactor
