Heat transfer means for a high temperature reactor

Description

The pipe taking the primary gas to the first heating surfaces is smaller in diameter than the jacket surrounding these heating surfaces. In conjunction with the jacket fitted to the tube plate, this makes it possible to create a space, in which two heating surfaces can be accommodated. The occurrence of irregularities in the primary gas flow and therefore uneven temperature distribution is greatly reduced. The smaller diameter of the wall limiting the second heating surfaces on the outside leads to the fact that the concrete pressure vessel, in which the cover for the heat transfer means is situated, can be made smaller. Abstract (German)

Die das Primaergas zu den ersten Heizflaechen fuehrende Leitung ist im Durchmesser kleiner als der diese Heizflaechen umgebende Mantel. Dadurch wird es in Verbindung mit dem an der Rohrplatte angebrachten Hemd moeglich, einen Raum zu schaffen, in dem die zweiten Heizflaechen untergebracht werden koennen. Das Auftreten von Unstetigkeiten in der Stroemung des Primaergases und damit von ungleichmaessiger Temperaturverteilung wird wesentlich vermindert. Der kleinere Durchmesser der die zweiten Heizflaechen aussen begrenzenden Wand fuehrt dazu, dass das Betondruckgefaess, in dem die Kaverne fuer den Waermeuebertraeger untergebracht ist, kleiner gebaut werden kann.
