Book

A study of large transverse energy hadron-hadron interactions at 150 and 300 GeV/c using a large acceptance calorimeter

Description

The interactions at 150 and 300 GeV/c pions and 300 GeV/c protons on hydrogen which result in final states with large transverse energy have been studied with a segmented calorimeter covering the central rapidity region -0.88<y<0.67 and 2π in azimuth. The observed event rates, large multiplicities and non-planar event structure indicate processes more complicated than the simple scattering of two constituents dominate this scattering process
