Ionization straggling of high energy muons in thick absorbers
Description
Energy distributions and survival probability of relativistic muons after a path length compared to mean range are calculated by means of the Remizovich- Voynov approach. Results are in a good agreement with Monte Carlo simulations. The well-known Vavilov distribution is modified for a thick absorber. (orig.)
