The expected role of natural gas from the viewpoint of fossil fuels reserves and CO2 global warming
Description
Atomspheric CO2 concentration from the fossil fuels carbon will gradually increase and stop at the level of about 800 ppmv after several centuries. It will not increase so rapidly to that level in the next century. The policy of advanced consumption of natural gas, which accelerates natural gas large scale power generation and restrains coal power generation, is not effective in slowing down the increase of CO2 concentration. Because natural gas ultimate remaining recoverable reserves will be used up in the next century and total carbon emission from natural gas and coal will be equal at the end of next century in any case of natural gas consumption. Therefore, the effectiveness of the policy disappears at the end of next century. Preferable use of natural gas are town gas, small scale co-generation and noble use for chemicals and liquid fuels.
