Description
The space charge effects which appear in the propagation of ion and electron beams through the background gas in plasma focus devices are analysed. An explanation is given for the ion beam divergence observed in IPE-2/20 plasma focus device, in the 3-5 cm zone in front of the anode. Some mechanisms to recover the energy of the beams which leave the hot, dense plasma are proposed. (Author) 1 Fig., 19 Refs
