Concentration of heavy metal elements in Chinese medicine by INAA

Description

An instrumental neutron activation analysis of Chinese medicines and medicinal herbs was performed, in which they have possibilities to contain toxic elements. By the preliminary experiments, there were some medicines that arsenic and mercury were included by observing gamma-ray spectroscopy with neutron irradiation. The Chinese medicine can be purchased through the Internet easily; however, it is considered that some regulations may be necessary. (author)
