Description
Recycling the various components within car batteries is both labor-intensive and highly hazardous. After a crusher breaks a batch of spent batteries, the lead, silver, acidic water and plastic are all separated. It is crucial to assess the environmental impact caused by the loss of these harmful elements during the recycling and crushing process. This study aims to determine the levels of some heavy and toxic elements, such as V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ba, As, and Pb, in soil samples taken from the vicinity of a vehicle battery disassembly site using X-ray fluorescence and neutron activation analysis.
