Uranyl complexes of trisO3- and TrisO2S-, new polydentate ligands containing phosphoryl and thiophosphoryl groups

  • 1. Univ. of Maryland, College Park (USA)

Description

Tris(diphenylphosphinoyl)methanide, [[Ph2P(O)]3C]-, TrisO3-, and bis(diphenylphosphinoyl)(diphenylthiophosphinoyl)methanide, [[Ph2P(O)]2[Ph2P(S)]C]-, TrisO2S-, are new potentially tridentate ligands which may also show bidentate behavior. Uranyl complexes of the general formula UO2(TrisO2X)L, where X is O or S, and L is a tertiary phosphine oxide, were synthesized in good yield from UO2(ACAC)2 x H2O, a tertiary phosphine oxide and the neutral protonated parent, HTrisO2X, of the polydentate ligand. The compounds have been characterized mainly by variable temperature P-31 NMR studies
