Design and performance of the Buckland Park air shower array

Description
A description is given of the design and operation of the Buckland Park cosmic ray air shower array, which has been extended to a physical collecting area of 3 x 104 m2. Features considered are the optimum location of new sites, the effect of different triggering criteria on triggering probability and the collecting area as a function of shower size, errors in shower size and core location and experimental checks on system performance including the measurement of differential and integral size spectra.
