Solitary magnetosonic waves in a realistic plasma

  • 1. Jadavpur Univ., Calcutta (India). Dept. of Physics

Description

The formation of solitary magnetosonic waves propagating in a direction perpendicular to the magnetic filed in a relativistic two component plasma is analysed. The approach is that of the effective potential where both the ions and electrons have been considered to be relativistic. Variations of the effective potential and the solitary wave in relation to the Mach number and other parameters are discussed
