Description
Flow boiling heat transfer experiments were performed in a rectangular narrow channel, and a new correlation was developed for predicting the boiling heat transfer coefficient. Different models for flow boiling heat transfer were used to predict the boiling heat transfer and the values were compared against the experimental database. The results show that Chen correlation and Lazarek-Black correlation could not well predict the boiling heat transfer coefficient of the rectangular narrow channel, and the Kim and Mudawar correlation is the best method among the models. A new correlation is developed based on the Schrock-Grossman model and the mechanism of forced convection boiling heat transfer. The correlation can well predict the boiling heat transfer coefficient. (authors)
