Activity calculation and production perspectives of Iodine-131 and Iridium-192 irradiated in IEA-R1 reactor

Description

Nowadays, radioisotope demand in nuclear medicine and industries are more and more higher. In this work it is shown the activity calculation of iodine-131 and iridium-192 and the comparison with experimental values. A production perspective of these radioisotopes has been made with the reactor operating at 5 MW. The calculational methodology is based on the NJOY/AMPX-II coupled system to produce the nuclear data libraries and on the Hammer-TECHNION program to generate the broad cross sections. The neutron fluxes in the sample positions were determined by CITATION code with four energy groups. (author)
