Finite element heat conduction in reactor solids

Description
The formulation of the finite element method of heat conduction analysis is reviewed and the computer programme TEMPEL is described. TEMPEL is based on linear, triangular elements and is suitable for steady-state conduction analysis of 2-dimensional plane or axisymmetric bodies with internal heat generation and prescribed temperature and/or adiabatic boundary conditions. The results of several representative analyses are included, to demonstrate the capabilities of the programme. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wird zunaechst eine Uebersicht ueber die Loesung von Waermeleitungsproblemen mit Hilfe der Methode der finiten Elemente gegeben und dann das Programm TEMPEL beschrieben. TEMPEL basiert auf linearen, dreieckigen Elementen und eignet sich fuer die stationaere Waermeleitungsanalyse bei zweidimensionalen, ebenen oder axial-symmetrischen Festkoerpern mit eigener Waermeerzeugung und vorgegebenen Temperatur- und/oder adiabatischen Randbedingungen. Um die Wirkungsweise des Programms zu verdeutlichen, werden die Resultate mehrerer repraesentativer Analysen angegeben. (orig.)Additional details
