Reutilization system of carbon dioxide using nuclear heat

Description
In order to reduce the emission rate of the carbon dioxide (CO2) to environment, it is necessary to establish the system of disposal and reutilization of CO2. The processes of CO2 separation, recovery, disposal in the deep sea and recycling were studied to utilize a large quantity of CO2 released from fossil power plant. As a result, the reutilization processes were selected for the effective usage of nuclear heat. The possible products were methanol, urea, ethylene and gasoline, then reutilization processes were examined to combine with nuclear heat from the high temperature gas-cooled reactor. The reduction rate of CO2 and the relation between production rate and the demand were evaluated. Thus, it was clarified from the view point of demand that the gasoline was useful production from CO2. Finally, we proposed a new gasoline production process that combined the modified ethylene production process with ARCO process, and the feasibility was discussed. (author)
