Effect of gamma irradiation and ethyl methane sulphonate on flavour formation in garlic (Allium sativum L. ) cultures
Description
In callus cultures both gamma irradiation and EMS treatments produced stimul ation of flavour formation at lower as well as at higher dosages. Different results were obtained when the plantlets differentiated from both the treatments were analysed. There was a gradual increase in flavour formation with increasing dosages, which declined at a higher dosages. Cytological observations showed an increase in polyploidy with increasing dosages.
