Form of occurrence of uranium in deposits associated with organic matter-a discussion

  • 1. Geological Survey of Canada, 601 Booth Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A OE8

Description

Illustrates that in Canada, as elsewhere in the world, uraniferous hydrocarbons are common and often abundant and important constituents of uranium deposits of all types and ages and that they may be divided into 2 main groups, those in which the uranium is mainly mechanically bound as discrete mineral particles and those in which the element is chemically or structurally bound. Concludes that the uraniferous and thoriferous hydrocarbons deserve continuing and detailed study
