Further evidence on the nature of the Λ(1405)

Description
Whether the Λ(1405) is a three-quark state or a anti K-nucleon bound state is still an unanswered question. In this paper it is shown that the phase-shift analysis in the region of the Λ(1670) and Λ(1800) puts strong constraints on models of the Λ(1405). Currently there are two analyses which disagree strongly. One of the analyses supports one interpretation while the other analysis supports the other interpretation. A definitive analysis would go a long way towards identifying the nature of the Λ(1405). (orig.)
